Top 10 Guns of Sci Fi

Yesterday I criticized Star Trek TNG for their Dustbuster looking sidearms. Star Trek has some unimpressive rifles too. So what do I consider good sci-fi weapons? I’m glad you asked…

10) Hornbill

cool sci fi gun

I’ve never seen this one in a movie. It just looks too cool to ignore, so it makes it in at #10.

9) Arc Gun

The District 9 Arc Gun is wicked.

8) Battlestar Galactica Gun

We’re talking the original series here. The kind the male Starbuck wore, that I wanted so bad as a kid.

7) Lea Blaster

Lea's Gun

Princess Lea’s blaster from Return of the Jedi. It was good to see her with a properly fitted gun after the previous movies.

6) Captain Mal’s Gun

Captain Mal's gun from TV show Firefly. Too bad Firefly didn't have a longer life because I liked that show.

5) Proton Pack

Not to be confused with TNG weapsons, the variations of the phase pistols used by the original cast are without a doubt the baddest-assed guns in sci-fi. They can stun, kill, vaporize, overload…Plus, they can even be used as cutting torches or to heat rocks up to keep one warm. But most importantly they look cool. TNG’s guns pale in comparison.
